MORE than 60 men, women and children skipped, slid, swung, twisted, turned and toe-tapped their way through three continuous hours of Zumba dancing and raised £2,500 for Midhurst’s Macmillan Cancer Support.

Organised by Maddie Hathaway who works at Midhurst Rother College, the Zumbathon took place in the school’s Jon Barrott Sports Hall which was lent for free by the college for the fundraiser.

Budgens donated refreshments and Southern Water donated water bottles to those taking part. The climbing wall was also in use courtesy of High Sports which organised ‘have a go’ sessions, and raised more than £100.

Beauty treatments were also on offer from Hush Beauty Clinic students offering new nails and massages.

Zannah Charman, who runs pole-dancing sessions at The Grange in Midhurst, donated a lesson for six people for a prize draw.

Maddie said: “It was great to see so many people turn up and give it their all. I would like to thank everybody for all their efforts.”
