Book Week, organised by Mrs Jaume, was a great success, with special story, poetry and book character assemblies.

Staff greeted the children dressed as the cast from The Wizard of Oz (with accompanying music) and parents joined their children to share stories in the hall.

Each class thoroughly enjoyed visiting Rye Library, where they were able to borrow books with their new library cards.

There were two competitions; one to match staff to their favourite children’s book and the other, a writing competition in school, with book tokens as prizes.

The School held a number of activities for Red Nose Day organised by Year 2 and 3 teacher Mrs Koral; Wear something red for £1, a Dance-a-thon and a cake sale after school.

A school spokesperson said: “The parents and children worked very hard to get sponsorship and raised over £850 for Comic Relief, an incredible achievement for a school of only 70 children.”
