Now, her family and friends want to raise awareness and try to prevent the same thing happening to others by raising money for research.

Jodie died on September 16, 2014, at the age of 29 from an amniotic fluid embolism, but thanks to the quick work of doctors, her second son, Caleb, was saved.

Sister Jenna Robinson said: “This is a very rare condition and only happens to one in 40,000 births. Jodie’s family and friends want to raise as much money as possible to help with research into this tragedy and try to prevent it from happening again.”

They are supporting Wellbeing of Women, a charity dedicated to improving the health of women and babies across the UK.

A charity golf day at Chichester Golf Club last Monday raised £7,000 and future events include a fun fundraising evening at Bognor Football Club on August 21 and a skydive on August 23.

Tesco in Chichester, where Jenna works, is also getting involved by holding non-uniform days and cake sales.
