Fury at new tax threat to our county

PROPOSED new taxes on gardens, outbuildings , patios and even views would hit West Sussex, where rural communities would be particularly affected.

Alos included are business rates that could be levies on agricultural land and buildings- something which has not been done since 1929.

The suggestions have been slammed by the county's MPs, who have pointed out that West Sussex already gets a raw deal with one of the lowest central grants and that many are surviving on fixed incomes which already do not keep pace with rising costs.
