Gatwick terror arrest suspect rebailed

A man who was arrested on suspicion of collecting information that would aid a terrorist attack at Gatwick Airport has been re-bailed by police.

The 21-year-old man was arrested under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 by the South East Counter Terrorism Unit at 1.10am on Saturday, January 29.

A police spokesman said he was suspected of collecting information that would help a person commit an act of terrorism and had posed no threat to passengers or the airport at any stage.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said the man was released on bail until Tuesday, April 5 and has been rebailed pending further enquiries until May 17.
