PEOPLE in Midhurst will soon be able to sneak out for a crafty pint.

A new off-licence is set to open on May 3 at 9am in Apsley House, West Street.

The Crafty Pint is the brainchild of Andrew Chiverton, who came to live in Midhurst in 1978
to run The Royal Oak with his family.

Andrew said of his trade: “It was built up on an ethos of quality of real ales and good wines, with fresh local produce being the key to the food service and the hardest of work being put in to give the clientele the best.”

Andrew and his wife Dawn now want to carry over this ethos to The Crafty Pint.

Sussex suppliers will be used as much as possible, including Langham Brewery in Lodsworth and Ballards in Petersfield.

Andrew added: “The Crafty Pint is a specialist off-licence offering craft beers, quality wines and ciders, working with customers to stock the products they would like, so if their favourite beers or wines are not on view, we should be able to get special orders of any size with some notice.

“Please come along to discover what we have to offer as well as enjoy our free tastings.

“We will be offering craft beers from small and micro-breweries from the area, and further afield in Britain and Europe, available in bottles and on draught to take away.

“To complement these we will be offering a selection of quality wines from regions across the world, as well as stocking wines from local wineries.

“There will also be gift packs for special occasions, such as Father’s Day, as well as a delivery service coming up for orders that won’t fit in the car.”
