Happy 20th anniversary to Midhurst Rainbows

IT was a case of Do-It-Yourself when nearly 30 young Midhurst Rainbows went to Pizza Express to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

The girls got started by decorating themselves and their chef’s hats with stickers and then climbing into their aprons to get down to business.

The pizza bases arrived and the girls were all shown how to use their fingers to push the edge of the dough up to make a crust.

Next the tomato passata was spooned on and spread before they added their own favourite ingredients of pepper, olives, mushrooms, ham, chicken and pepperoni. Last but not least a good sprinkling of cheese completed their handmade creations.

“The smell of cooked pizza wafted through the restaurant and made the leaders feel hungry too as 27 individually made pizzas arrived, one for each Rainbow,” said lst Midhurst Rainbow Unit leader Kirstin Bosley.

It was an even more special occasion for two new Rainbows who made their promises and received their badges watched by their families and then Sapphire (Sophie) renewed her promise as an adult marking the completion of her adult leader qualification.

“We would like to say a very big ‘thank you’ to all the staff of Midhurst Pizza Express for looking after our enthusiastic pizza makers and for kicking off Midhurst Rainbows 20th birthday celebrations,” added Kirstin.
