This weekend, Onyx UK will remove its equipment from the Harwood Road, Littlehampton, depot, to make way for Verdant's 50 new cleansing vehicles.

Jonathan Miles, chairman of Verdant, said his company was looking forward to taking over the service from Monday and planned to "hit the ground running".

He added: "This contract provides an excellent opportunity to revitalise cleansing services throughout the district."
