TIME is running out for in the search for a manager to take charge of this year’s Midhurst Charity Christmas card shop.
A team of volunteers are poised ready to help man the shop but despite several appeals, no-one has come forward to help co-ordinate and manage it for the seven weeks leading up to Christmas.
The post is temporary and part-time and can be shared between two people and a small remuneration is paid by the charities involved as a thank you for the help of volunteers.
The manager’s job is to oversee the shop, look after the volunteers, the stock and the banking procedures as well as complete some of the paperwork.
Area organiser Judith O’Sullivan said: “It is not as onerous as it may sound and the managers many only need to be in the shops for an hour or so each day. It runs from the end of October until Christmas and is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm for seven weeks.
“It is a very enjoyable environment to be in and a rewarding role as the charities involved all benefit enormously from the sales of cards,” said Judith. “By giving your time you will be helping the charities too.
“Cards for Good Causes is all about charities working together to help each other and to expand the network of shops and raise more funds for charity, and to continue to do this the organisation needs to recruit local shop managers.
“I am sure there are some very capable people in Midhurst with some time to spare between now and Christmas who could bring their skills to our shop and help ensure all runs smoothly this year.”
