‘Help us get out foot through the door’ appeals band

GETTING a foot through the door of the music industry is difficult at the best of times.

But for one band of promising young musicians from Littlehampton and Angmering, the dream of recording their first album is a mere mouse click away.

Littlehampton-based alternative rock band, Our Fallen Hero, is appealing to the public to back them in a new competition launched on social networking site, Facebook.

The competition, organised by music producers, Manor House, will see the band with the most votes win a two-day recording contract worth £600 to help kick-start a career in the music industry.

Lead singer of Our Fallen Hero, Perry Burdfield, 16, from Littlehampton, said: “So far, the response has been absolutely amazing. It’s just incredible.

“Most of the bands that are taking part have already got material recorded. But for us, this would mean so much.

“It would be that chance to get our foot in the door and to get our music heard.

“It’s a really exciting competition and would mean the world to us if we could win it.”

The five-piece band, made up of singer Perry, rhythm guitarist Joe Glynn, lead guitarist Sam Brooks, William Hammond on bass and George Ashcroft on drums, formed in August.

They have already finished several songs for their up-coming album, Ashes to Kings, which they hope to release later this year.

“We practise every weekend to try to perfect the material we already have,” said Perry.

“But we just need that extra bit of support to go to the next level.”

To support the band, search for Our Fallen Hero on Facebook, click on the link to the Manor House recording studio, on the band’s wall, and comment, “Our Fallen Hero”.

The competition ends on Sunday, January 15, with the winner announced shortly afterwards.
