West Sussex County Council highways officers are being invited to walk the length of Midhurst’s North Street to see for themselves the growing traffic nightmare in the town.
County councillor Gordon McAra told fellow members of the town council it was important to try and solve the problem particularly as new housing was being built in Lamberts Lane with another 60 cars potentially trying to access North Street: “We need to get an overview of activities over the whole length of the road. There are seven turn offs, two sets of lights, on street parking and loading bays and the possibility of finding a solution is not very good.”
