Horsham council and church leaders mark Ukraine anniversary with silent vigil
A number of events were held in Horsham on Friday 24th February to mark the anniversary of the start of the 2022 invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
Around 200 people met at the Carfax War Memorial in Horsham to take part in a 30 minute Silent Vigil led by Cllr Kate Rowbottom, Chairman of Horsham District Council, and Rt Revd Ruth Bushyager, Bishop of Horsham.
They were joined by other Councillors and local Church leaders in a moving ceremony organised by Horsham Churches Together.
Attendees at this moving ceremony included around 25 Ukranian refugees who are currently living in the Horsham area.
