Horsham Markets scoop title of Sussex Farmers Market of the Year

Horsham Markets has won the title of Sussex Farmers Market of the Year at the Sussex Food and Drink Awards 2013/14.

The local produce market, which dominates Horsham town centre every Thursday and Saturday, received the accolade at last night’s event in the Amex Stadium, Brighton (Thursday January 30).

Director PJ Aldred told the County Times: “We are thrilled to have scooped the best farmers market.

“This is the first time the markets have even reached the nomination stage, so to scoop the finals - brilliant.

“But it’s all down to our producers. We’re getting customers involved in our produced on a regular basis. So this is for all our producers and customers who support us to the end, and Horsham, which is the best place to be and the only place to be.”

The award was tightly contested by grand finalist Rushfields market in Steyning.
