Hospice boost

A MEMORIAL charity race raised £1,000 for St Michael's Hospice.

Hastings Runners organised the first Keith Chandler Charity Memorial five-mile road race this year, and presented a cheque to St Michael's Hospice on Saturday (October 7).

Hospice medical director Dr Dick Board was handed the cheque by Keith's widow Heather Chandler and other race organisers.

Race director Tony Demarco is already planning next year's event, which is scheduled for April 29 2007. He is currently looking for race sponsors.

Cheryl Davis from the Hospice Fundraising Office said: "We would like to thank everyone at Hastings Runners for their hard work in organizing such an exciting event and to all the sponsors."
