So said a Crown Prosecution Service spokeswoman of the case in which lesbians Lorraine Large, 22, and Gemma McGarvie, 18, left a 13-year-old black teenager for dead after dragging him from a Littlehampton bedsit and stabbing him up to 23 times.

A jury this week found them guilty of attempted murder and they now await sentence.
