Iconic items from special effects pioneer under the hammer at Fernhurst

ICONIC items from the man behind special effects for blockbusters from Star Wars to Jaws, ET, Aliens and Titanic go under the hammer at a John Nicholson’s auction in Fernhurst on October 17.

There are 35 lots from the personal collection of Ray Harryhausen, the pioneer of film animation and special effects.

They include his cameras and camcorders, a bronze mask from Clash of the Titans, a small plaster cast of Frankenstein and a poster from Sinbad Eye of the Tiger.

Various illustrations, oil paintings, pictures and other artefacts are included, with estimates ranging from £25 to £200.
