Intrepid Udimore womanis organising fund raisersfor the Oliver Curd Trust

Leah Athol-Murray is holding a number of events in the coming months to raise money for local charity The Oliver Curd Trust.

The charity is names after a Peasmarsh schoolboy who died after losing his fight with a rare form of cancer.

The Trust pays for respite holidays for families of children who have life-threatening illnesses.

They have already paid for a holiday caravan at Crowhurst Park

Leah is organising a 1940’s style Tea Dance which will take place at Winchelsea New Hall on Sunday November 23 from 3-7pm.

Admission to the event is £6 to include tea and cake. There will be live music played by The Swinging Detective.

Leah said; “For those people wanting to join in at the Tea Dance there is a great opportunity to learn some basic Lindy Hop steps in the month running up to the dance.

“Classes will be held at St Mary’s Community Hall, Udimore, by two incredible dancers on the following dates from 7pm - 9pm: Tuesday October 26; Thursday November 6; Tuesday November 11 and Tuesday November 18.

“It costs £5 a class and there will be tea and cake.”

Leah is also organising a Curry Night at St Mary’s Community Hall, Udimore. on Friday October 24.

It costs £25 per person for a three course authentic Indian meal. People can bring their own drinks and there will be a quiz and raffle.

Leah said: “Tickets for this are selling like hot cakes.”

Leah has already raised more than £7.500 for the Breast Cancer Care charity by After undertaking a 100km trek through Jordan last year and completing ‘Hike the Himalayas, Britain V Cancer’ this April.

She said: “I decided on my return to sign up in a moment of euphoria and madness to trek in the Annarpurna range in the Himalaya, Nepal in October 2015.

“I am raising money for the Oliver Curd Trust and am really hoping people will come out and support these local events later this year,”
