A RECORD £5,000 was raised at Camelsdale Primary School’s Christmas fair where pupils and parents, governors and staff manned stalls in every space available.

In the main hall, 15 stalls included Mrs Palmer’s Promises, where you ‘bought’ the option to come to school out of uniform, ring the school bell and take tea with the head.

There were also school calendars, Bags for Life, Usborne Books, Quirky Critters, The Pampered Chef and the popular Silent Auction which alone raised over £1,600.

Funds raised will go to IT equipment as well as the new kitchen for school meals and early years resources.

Retiring chairman, Liz Fry said more than £200 was also raised for Children in Need.
