Join the queue for Post Office petition

An opportunity has been created for the public to support Bexhill's threatened post offices.

Following a campaign meeting at Windmill Drive post office, local MP Greg Barker has launched an on-line petition, which has so far gathered 120 signatures.

In addition, the public is invited to a meeting on November 2 in St. Andrew's Church Hall, Wickham Avenue. Bexhill's five post masters will attend the meeting, which begins at 11am.

Mr Barker stressed the importance of the public's support, saying: "The managing director of Post Office Limited, Alan Cook, has said that our area is to be assessed over a six week period starting in November. It is therefore vital that the strength of local opinion is properly expressed."

The petition can be found on Mr Barker's website at www.gregorybarker.com.
