Much-loved actress June Whitfield is the latest big name to join the growing list of patrons of the newly-formed Centre Stage Academy based in Midhurst.
Earlier this autumn actor Hugh Bonneville of Notting Hill fame and Lady Amber Leighton, film director Guy Ritchie's former model mother, also agreed to become patrons.
Founder of the theatre school Brett East told the Observer: "We are delighted and honoured to announce that June Whitfield has generously agreed to become a patron.
She is a well-known supporter of local enterprises and does much good work for several charities. Other distinguished patrons will be announced soon."
June (pictured) has been especially admired for her comedy acting on radio and television.
Her first big break came in the popular radio series Take It From Here with Jimmy Edwards. She later appeared with Tony Hancock and Terry Scott as well as in several Carry On films.
She has recently appeared on TV in The Last of the Summer Wine, Absolutely Fabulous, The Green Green Grass, Midsomer Murders, New Tricks, and Harley Street.
