Kindness Blossoms

STAFF and pupils at East Preston Infants School gave three cheers to the many kind-hearted people who came to their aid following a senseless vandalism spree.

Parents, governors and supporters pulled together to restore the floral display, completely destroyed last weekend after vandals tore flowers from planters at the front of the school.

Headteacher Brenda Berridge said: "We feel we have had fantastic support from our local community and we wish to express out heartfelt thanks."

The pupils themselves had originally planted a selection of flowers and herbs in the wooden planters and were understandably upset to find them scattered about the grounds last Monday morning.

But the planters were soon restored to their former glory thanks to members of the East Preston after-school club, who planted a selection of brightly-coloured plants generously donated by B&Q Worthing.

One pupil s grandmother even donated 100 for repairs as soon as she heard the terrible news and a school governor has donated a CCTV camera system to deter others from causing damage to school property.
