King Edward VII hospital appeal on hold

DEVELOPERS City and Country, who won planning permission for plans to restore Midhurst’s historic King Edward VII hospital by building new homes around it, have put a planning appeal against refusal of a previous application on hold.

The developers were refused permission for the plan earlier this year by the South Downs National Park Authority and appealed to a government planning inspector to overturn the decision.

But they have now placed the appeal in abeyance until February 25 and the inquiry scheduled for January will not now take place.
