“You can’t really imagine what you’ll look like with very little hair,” she said.

“It feels a bit weird when the wind blows, you feel it more, but I don’t really mind it. I do get a few weird looks when I go to the gym in the morning!”

Trisha will finish collecting donations from a box at the pet shop this week before sending in the money.

The 54-year-old said she had known a couple of people who had died from cancer in the last few years.

“It’s an awful disease and there’s nothing you can do about it except to raise money to help to make their lives easier somehow.

“I looked at it and I thought, I could do that.”

The charity offer fundrasing packs to would- be volunteers and Trisha doesn’t regret the shave for a moment.

“It’s for a good cause so I don’t mind doing it.

People say ‘you’re so brave for doing it, and I say ‘why, it’ll grow back!’”
