A-LEVELS 2015: Chichester College building on its successes
‘SHEER hard work and commitment’ ensured students at Chichester College got the grades they needed.
For the third year running 99 per cent of its students passed their exams with grades ranging from A* to E.
“Many congratulations to all our A-level students,” said assistant principal Helen Loftus. “Through sheer hard work and commitment to their studies they have achieved fantastic results.
“So many students put in a tireless amount of effort to achieve their grades, which makes celebrating their achievements today even more rewarding.”
One such student was 18-year-old Carrie Liddell who had an A* in film studies, an A in photography and a B in English literature.
“I felt all right because I felt the exam had gone well,” she said.
The college student will head to the University of Westminster in the autumn to study film.
“I looked at UCAS (this morning) and I knew I got in,” said Carrie, adding as she got closer to the college this morning she suddenly got nervous and ran in to pick up her results and make sure.
“It’s been really good,” she said of her time at the college, “film studies was really awesome here. I came here and started doing it as an extra thing.”
The college said 28 of its A-level subjects achieved 100 -per-cent pass rates, including physics, biology and history.
“The college’s record for maintaining high achievement also continues, with more than 76 per cent of all students achieving grades A*-C,” said a spokeswoman.
