East Sussex County Council member Cllr Bob Tidy: 'This is another feather in the cap for Lewes Library.

'Just being nominated for these awards is confirmation that top library professionals in the UK and Ireland believe we have delivered an outstanding building both for its design and how it works as a library.

'It is wonderful to get professional recognition such as this award nomination.

'But the most important view is that of the local community and we know from the comments we have received that people in the Lewes area really appreciate their library.'
