‘The Man in an Orange Shirt’ is the first screen drama of the best selling British novelist Patrick Gale’s book.

The BBC website says: “The drama tells two gay love stories, 60 years apart - stories linked by family and by a painting that holds a secret that echoes down the generations.”

The base for the production is currently in the car park of the former primary school in Easebourne Street where wardrobe, make-up and catering vans are based. One of the locations is a Cowdray Cottage in Lodsworth.

Big production vehicles can also be seen parked along the A272 near the vineyards. There are some 70 people in the crew, only five of whom are actors and they are all staying in Liphook at the Old Thorns Hotel.
