Lodsworth drink-driver is charged by police

A LODSWORTH man has been charged as part of Operation Dragonfly, Sussex Police’s Christmas crackdown on drink and drug-driving.

Christopher Squires, 28, was arrested at 1.50am on Christmas Eve after a car overturned in Lickfold Road, Fernhurst.

Squires, of School Lane, Lodsworth, was charged with drink-driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

He has been released on bail to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on January 6.

Some 101 motorists have so far been charged in the crackdown.

Officers are on dedicated patrols looking for offenders, and will respond to tip-offs from members of the public who see someone they know has been drinking getting into a car to drive.
