AS THE countdown to Midhurst’s third MADhurst festival begins an appeal has gone out for transport so more groups can take part in the grand finale carnival procession.
Organiser Steve Morley, who leads the organising team on behalf of Midhurst Town Council said there were more groups wanting to take part, but who did not have the wheels to get their floats on parade.
“I would be very grateful to hear from anyone who can help us to make the procession bigger and better than ever this year by providing transport in the shape of lorries, vans and especially low loaders so we can get these groups in the procession.
Floats are gathering at midday on bank holiday Monday August 27, this year for the start of the procession in Market Square.
They will head off along Church Hill, Knockhundred Row and into North Street for their grand procession down to the bus station.
The end of the procession at the bottom of North Street will herald the start of the afternoon’s entertainment on the Midhurst Sports Association grounds.
Anyone who could either help by providing transport or marshalling should contact him through the town council office 01730 816953.
