The internet hub and coffee shop at the heart of Fernhurst has celebrated a major facelift with an official opening.
The Fernhurst Centre has been transformed to create a larger coffee shop while computer users have more privacy in a separate section.
The reopening was marked with a cake cutting by Chichester district councillor Norma Graves who along with CDC have supported the centre from the start. In addition 13 years of the centre were celebrated when parish council chairman Heather Bicknell, cut a carrot cake made by local baker Natacha Charlez from the Piece of Heaven Bakery.
Trustee Antonia Plant said: “A surprise of the very best kind was revealed when Mike Boyce, Manager at the Grange Leisure Centre announced the Grange Community Association, of which he is a trustee, had awarded the centre £3,000 towards furniture and furnishings.
The reopening was combined with the autumn gift fair which acts as publicity for the specially commissioned local Christmas cards, calendar sold by the centre and the ‘scout post’ delivering cards in the Fernhurst and Liphook area for 25p per card.
The centre has published its winter course programme. See www.fernhurstcentre.org.uk for more information or call 01428 641931.
