Man, 68, attacked in Chichester after confronting group

A 68-year-old man was punched to the ground after telling a group playing football in a car park to keep the noise down.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault which happened in Tower Street, Chichester, at 11.30pm on last Thursday.

He had gone to speak to the group about the noise they were making while playing football in the car park between the library and the Grange when the assault took place.

The man was punched and pushed to the floor during the attack, sustaining cuts and bruises to his face and body.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to email [email protected] call 101 quoting serial 1732 of 13/08.

Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
