Many roads around Chichester closed by flooding

Sherborne Road in the Parklands area has been shut to traffic, and Donnington Road is also suffering extreme flooding.

The B2233 is flooded, as is part of the B2145 where the manhole covers have lifted because of the heavy rains. A caravan has also become stuck near the Compton farm shop, causing even more traffic jams.

Traffic is queueing back to the M27 because of the extent of flooding on the A27 between Emsworth and Chichester. Delays of up to an hour and a half are expected.

Sections of the A259 are also flooded.

However train travel has not been disrupted - Southern reported that all train services were running normally.
