Maths puzzle day

PUPILS from St Richard's Catholic College and Bexhill High School took part in a maths puzzle day.

The aim was to develop thinking strategies, team working skills and communication skills.

The children worked in groups to complete the hands-on 3D puzzles they were set and had to solve each puzzle before they could progress to the next challenge.

Jonathan Beaumont, a teacher at St Richard's, said: "The day was a complete success and left the pupils and adults involved enthused and inspired about problem solving.

"The pupils were immersed in the activities and were challenged to think in a creative way about how to solve puzzles.

"The benefits of this kind of activity are enormous for all the pupils involved."
