“It includes a welcome, a long creative time to explore the biblical theme through getting messy, a short celebration time involving drama, story, prayer and song and we finish by sitting down to a meal together.”

Messy Church at St Mary’s, Easebourne, has been running for five years with six sessions a year.

It is usually on a Monday after school and is aimed at children aged four and five years upwards.

“Each session has a different theme, and is always quite messy! During the year we explore Messy Easter, Messy Harvest and Messy Advent along with a variety of other themes including Love Rules, Community, New Life, Thank You and Creation.”
