THE Rotary Club of Midhurst and Petworth is set to welcome in a new president, to take over the helm for the coming year.
A presidential evening was held at the club to illustrate their ethos: that of ‘fun and fellowship’.
As a new year begins, outgoing president Chris Wigley thanked all rotarians, their partners, and members of Inner Wheel for their continuing support during his year.
He then handed over the reins to incoming president Paul Mellings.
Mr Mellings proceeded to outline the plans he has for the club.
He said he hoped all members would enjoy the events planned for the upcoming year, but made clear the importance of keeping in mind ‘service above self’.
Jim Reader has taken on the role of vice-president, and was welcomed into it by his new president.
Meanwhile, the new president of the Inner Wheel will be Mary Sexton, with whom Paul will be working very closely this year.
The Rotary Club of Midhurst and Petworth is a member of Rotary International, and was formed in 1964.
They meet every Monday.
