MEMBERS of the Rotary Club of Midhurst and Petworth have presented Midhurst Macmillan with cheques totalling £3,600.
President Nigel Goodenough presented two cheques to Jo Stuttaford, the joint lead for the Midhust Macmillan team.
The first, for £3,000, was raised by the Rotary golf day.
The second, for £600, from a coffee morning at Rotherhill Nurseries.
Jo told members it would be used locally to buy three much-needed syringe drivers.
She was attending a meeting of the club to talk about the work done by the team who help in the management of patients with life threatening diseases, over a wide area of West Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey.
She said the work was carried out by a team of about 30 practitioners, including four doctors, nurses, therapists, counsellors and secretaries.
The main aim was to look after patients in the place of their choice.
The professional team are helped by about 70 volunteers who help with anything from shopping to dog walking.
If patients require treatment that cannot be managed at homes they can be cared for with support from the Macmillan team, in Midhurst Community hospital, Petworth cottage Nursing Home or Pendean Nursing Home.
