Midhurst Fire Station issues barbecue safety warning

Midhurst firefighters have issued a barbecue safety warning amid a heatwave in Sussex.

A spokesman for the station urged people to be careful – particularly with disposable barbecues.

In a statement issued yesterday, June 24, he said: “We have attended Easebourne Park this evening to a smoking bin as a result of BBQ that was to hot to dispose.

“Enjoy the nice weather but please take the time to stay safe and look after public spaces.
