The crew at Midhurst will also be carrying out firefighting displays and road traffic accident extrication demonstrations throughout the day.

There will be plenty of refreshments available.

Watch manager at Midhurst fire station, Nigel Gamblen,
said: “We hope the afternoon will be a really good opportunity for local people to come and meet us and find out a bit more about what being a retained firefighter is all about and what an important part retained firefighters play in keeping the community safe.

“We’ve planned some ‘have a go’ activities for people to try so they can get a little taster of what we do.

“There will also be exciting demonstrations to watch and plenty of opportunity to look around the fire station and appliances.”
