MORE than 400 visitors poured through the doors for the 32nd and last annual modeller’s exhibition to be held at the current Grange Centre in Midhurst.
There were 74 stands with the main hall devoted to model railways in a variety of gauges from clubs and societies around the south. The second hall and squash courts were filled with model boats of all shapes and sizes and traders giving expert advice
Other halls in the centre housed further exhibits including planes, cars, other motor vehicles, steam engines militaria, meccano, dolls houses and much more.
Centre manager Mike Boyce said: “Claire Mcphie, who helped me organise the show, and I were really pleased with the support from the modelling community and exhibitors alike. We had real concerns with the weather but in the end it kept dry. The show will be going ahead in the new centre next year.”
Mac Skeet, of The Warship Squadron Model Boat Club, said: “It was a real season starter and put us all in a mood for the rest of the year.”
Basingstoke Model Boat Club member Alan Spooner added: “We thoroughly enjoyed speaking to many friends and like-minded modellers.”
