FIREFIGHTERS from across the area were last night (April 23) called to Kirdford after a four wheel drive was destroyed by fire.

Crews from Midhurst, Petworth and Billingshurst were called to the blaze at farmland off Glasshouse Lane in Kirdford.

Emergency services received the call around 12.30pm and had made the scene safe by 1.20pm. West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was accidental and no-one is thought to have been injured.

On Wednesday evening (April 22), fire crews from Midhurst and Petersfield were called to the scene of a two-car collision on the Petersfield Road at South Harting.

The crash happened just before 6pm and it took crews less than one hour to clear the scene.
