Midhurst polo proposals could be revived

REJECTED proposals to create a practice polo pitch on land in Midhurst may now be revived after councillors dismissed calls for the replacement of a key boundary hedge.

Officers at Chichester District Council had recommended that an ancient piece of hedge at Kings Drive, which had been taken down against planning regulations, be restored– scuppering plans for the pitch.

However, councillors took the view it was not necessary to issue a notice to re-instate the 150 metres of hedge as tennants had argued they needed time to seek specialist advice on complying with South Downs National Park legislations.
