WHEN he’s not honouring his commitments as a Midhurst Town councillor, Glyn Upjohn is helping to raise vital funds to help save lives around the world

Glyn has joined forces with Lions club members across the county in a bid to raise some £200,000 to help world-renowned experts tackle blood cancers.

He is a trustee of the Lions International Blood Research Appeal (LIBRA), the only charity to solely raise funds for the haematology department at King’s College Hospital in London.

Funds will go towards laboratory developments and specialist equipment for research into leukaemia and allied blood cancers.

Glyn said: “We are delighted the additional funds we raise will help to cover the cost of specialist equipment and laboratory developments urgently required by King’s haematology team.

“By providing the funding, we will ensure that workspace is available for the manufacture of various blood cancer treatments.

“We are calling on the public for support so that we can reach our £200,000 target as soon as possible.”
