The much-loved cobbles in Midhurst’s North Street have finally been reinstated following essential repairs by Southern Electric Power Distribution (SEPD) to an underground cable.
There was concern when Tarmac was put down after work was carried out earlier this year, but SEPD pledged to return and reinstate the historic cobbles. Now workmen have dug up the Tarmac and reinstated the old and some new cobbles by hand. SEPD’s community advisor, Jasmin Myhill said: “We realise the cobbles have been missed and so we’re delighted to be replacing them.” Pictured here are Jasmin with April from the Granary, Sam from Michael Courtney Butchers, Angela and Rita from Cancer Research UK.
