Town councillors will be filling the vacancy by co-opting a new member.

Anyone who wishes to be considered should contact the town clerk, Denise Meek no later than Thursday April 7.
She can be contacted at town council offices situated in The Old Library, Knockhundred Row, by calling 01730 816953 or email [email protected]

Mr Etherington resigned his seat on the council in a shock announcement at the end of January.

He was the only councillor left who had been elected by voters in Midhurst.

He joined the council in May 1983 and had served the last six years as chairman. But he left the council saying he had become increasingly frustrated by the confrontation inside the council.
