A Midhurst woman was one of blood donors who has received an award for her dedication to helping others.
NHS Blood and Transport honoured 84 blood donors at an awards ceremony at the Marriott Hotel in Portsmouth.
Award winners – some of whom have been giving blood for more than 50 years, received crystal trophies.
The donors from Portsmouth and the surrounding area have helped save more than 18,900 lives between them.
Gill Nightingale, 69, from Midhurst, received an award for her 75th donation.
Gill saw the desperate need for donations during her time spent working as a nurse.
She said: “I started giving blood around 40 years ago, as soon as I was in a position to do so.
“I have been donating regularly ever since then.”
