New managers SLM Ltd took over the running of all Chichester District Council’s leisure centres earlier this year after CDC carried out a review of their leisure services.

But vice chairman of Midhurst Town Council John Quilter told fellow councillors a number of people had complained about changes.

These included the installation of unhealthy soft drinks vending machines and a proliferation of black and red corporate logo decor which ‘cheapened the place’. “Other comments include that people feel it has made the Grange more down market and a cross between a cinema and a bowling alley.”
