Victoria Smart was joined by Littlehampton Town Mayor Cllr Ian Buckland to promote and fundraise for the charity at the community stall at Littlehampton’s Artisan Market.

Victoria said: “I feel privileged to fundraise for MIND, as well as raising awareness. MIND is a brilliant organisation that supports many people in or community. Experiencing mental health problems is something that so many people face at some time in their life. Whether it is you, a family member, a friend or someone else you care about, you want to know that the right support is there to help. MIND offers that help and that is why I am pleased to support this very worthwhile charity.”

Coastal West Sussex MIND is the Mayor’s Charity this year.

Cllr Buckland said: “I am proud to support Coastal West Sussex MIND. Mental health is an issue that is often hidden and people with mental health problems often feel isolated and stigmatised. We want to make people aware that mental health is an issue for everyone.”

Victoria is looking forward to the Miss England finals on July 19 to 21, and her work will continue throughout her year as Miss Sussex.

She said: “Throughout my Miss England journey I have received overwhelming support from the people and businesses within Littlehampton. I would like to thank everybody who has supported me this far and those who continue to do so. My title as Miss Sussex has given me the opportunity to get involved with events in my local community and the chance to have a voice. I want to use this voice to tell people that with determination and support you can achieve anything you desire.”
