Motorcyclist dies in Sussex road accident

A motorcyclist has died at the scene of a crash in Sussex on Sunday.

The accident happened on the A2037 in Small Dole between the Horn Lane junction and the Clappers Lane junction close to Henfield.

Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after midday after a report of a collision between a motorbike and a Peugeot car.

Sussex Police has just confirmed the motorcyclist, from the Saltdean area of Brighton, died at the scene.

A spokesperson said, “As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The driver of the Peugeot, a female from the Small Dole area, was taken to Worthing Hospital with serious injuries.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to contact them on 101 quoting Operation Director.

The road remains closed in both directions.
