Motorcyclist seriously injured in A272 collision with deer

A motorcyclist was seriously injured when his vehicle collided with a deer on the A272 near Midhurst on Sunday afternoon.

Police and paramedics, as well as an air ambulance, were called to the incident in Stedham at 1.38pm, police confirmed.

The 56-year-old local rider was airlifted to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with suspected fractures to his arm, hand and collarbone, according to police.

Sadly, the deer involved in the collision died at the scene.
