MP becomes anambassador forlocal schools

The visit was organised under the Education Futures Trust programme.

Ambassadors were shown around by all of the four House Captains, whom along with their fellow students decide what to call their Houses, and this year they were; Owls, Magpies, Kingfishers and Flamingos.

Amber said: “It is wonderful to see that the children get to decide what to call their classes each year.

“The House Captains were all so dedicated to their studies, but still found time to undertake this very important role”

After the Learning Walks, where all Ambassadors visited all of the classrooms to understand their learning techniques and speak to the students, everyone returned to the main hall to evaluate their notes.

Amber was awarded with an Ambassadors Badge and welcomed onto the programme.

Amber added: “I especially enjoyed the question asking how to get into politics. It just goes to show that all of the work the young students put in now, will pay off in the future, especially if they would like to become an MP themselves. All I would say is that you should keep doing what you are doing, and you will be successful!”

Carole Dixon, Chief Executive of the Education Futures Trust commented: “We were delighted to welcome Amber to the Icklesham Primary School session, as it meant the ambassadors could extend their knowledge about how they might have a voice beyond the school walls.”
