He wanted to wait until he got home to open his results with his parents. And so it was some time after 8pm last night he learned he had achieved 11 GCSEs at A* grade putting him at the top of the list of GCSE achievers at the college this summer.

”It’s been quite a day,” he said as he has celebrated with a fish and chip supper last night with other Seaford College DofE candidates who had also completed their silver award. “I’m in complete shock, I thought I’d done well but not this well.” Mrs Amin added: “I’m absolutely thrilled with the results. It’s all very overwhelming. Joe worked so hard and his results have completely blown us away.”

There must be something in the water at Graffham as all four top scoring Seaford College GCSE students this year live in the village. William Morris gained 8A*s and 2As, Holly Gyles netted 5A*s, 2As and a B and George Limpus notched up 2A*s, 6As and an B.

William who lost his father three years ago had worked hard because he wanted to make him proud. He gained a phenomenal 100 per cent mark in English literature.
